Default M/T Et Streets 315 vs 325

I´ve been looking into buying either one but they seem so similar in dimensions

315 are 40lbs,13,4 sidewall,overall diameter is 29,8 and Circumfence is 94

325 are 36lbs,13 sidewall,overall diameter is 27,9 and Circumfence is 88

They both have 11" thread with measured on a 10" rims

The Queston is,are the 315 better? On the other side if the coin they are 4lbs heavyer?

The 315 is 30" tall, the 325 is 28" tall, not even remotely close in size. Gonna be a LOT easier to fit the 325.

I've been going through a similar situation. My issue was more about not wanting to hammer the inner fender with the 325. After some research I ended up going with the M & H 325/50/15.

Here's what I found minus the tire weights

M&H 325/50/15 Height 28" Tread Width 10.3 Section Width 12.3
M/T 325/50/15 Height 28" Tread Width 11 Section Width 13.0
BFG 325/50/15 Height 28" Tread Width 10.5 Section Width 13.0

For reference the M&H with the section width of 12.3 is the same as a nitto 315/35/17.

stevemilz's pictures show you how truly large the 315s are. I think it should boil down to more what size tire do you need? Do you need a 30 or 28 inch tall tire? I went with the 325s as the 315s would be overkill and I didn't need the extra weight.

I forgot to rule out the tire height

I will be going with the 325´s but can´t understand why are guy´s using 30" slicks rather than 28" if we count out the height?

stevemilz,
How much work did it take to get the 315's in there?
I currently run 325 MT'S and it was a piece of cake to get them to work. I would like to go with the 315's but haven't had the desire to start the project. I assume some cutting of the bumber cover? Is there and cutting of the lower front 1/4 area in front of the tire? Wheel well stretching? its hard to see a good close side angle in your pics.

What do you guys think about the 325s and a slightly smaller gear to make up for the shorter tire?

Well I am using the 325's also but recently swapped to 4.10 gears in the 12 bolt for motor passes so I am will have another set of rims with the 315's for n2o use. The extra 2 inches of height will help with the gear ratio plus added traction of the bigger sidewall for 250+n2o. I would also like to see what has to be done to make those fit. Later Clint

I had a 28x10.5W on before....Im having the wheel wells stretched, I want to do my car right(welding up the gas door and antenna hole filled) , you could barely put a sheet of paper between the tire and the car....The car was already mini tubbed and the rear was shortened 1.5" per side.

Its roughly $300 + repainting the quarters
The rear bumper get stretched also(you can keep the lips so it looks factory if you want)
