what do sfc's do for the 1/4 mile? well, i jacked up my car to do my first oil change this weekend and discovered i have bolt in sub frame connectors. my question is, will these benefit me in the 1/4 mile at all or are they just extra weight. my car will never be autox-ed so im not worried about handling that much. thanks. |
they will help to transfer wieght. my car used to launch like a wet noddle. |
SFC help stiffen the car up over a car without them. Depending on power and launch characteristics, they may not show a difference seen on the timeslip, but the lack of twisting DEFINATELY helps! I'd say keep them, and if possible weld them in. Derek |
. +1, keep, & weld in. . |
how much do you think itll cost to weld them in? |
Shouldn't be more than 1-2 hours of work depending on prep work and such. Calls speed shops or chassis shops in your area for a quote. Derek |
SFC add like 50 HP dude...j/k...seriously, keep them! An F-body w/o SFC handles like a fat girl chasing a cupcake...an F-body w/ SFC feels more solid. I'm putting them on my 'vert b/c I want my car to last...i.e. no stress cracks in the quarter panels, squeeks, rattles, etc. |
