what do sfc's do for the 1/4 mile?

well, i jacked up my car to do my first oil change this weekend and discovered i have bolt in sub frame connectors. my question is, will these benefit me in the 1/4 mile at all or are they just extra weight. my car will never be autox-ed so im not worried about handling that much. thanks.

they will help to transfer wieght. my car used to launch like a wet noddle.

SFC help stiffen the car up over a car without them. Depending on power and launch characteristics, they may not show a difference seen on the timeslip, but the lack of twisting DEFINATELY helps! I'd say keep them, and if possible weld them in.

how much do you think itll cost to weld them in?

Shouldn't be more than 1-2 hours of work depending on prep work and such. Calls speed shops or chassis shops in your area for a quote.

SFC add like 50 HP dude...j/k...seriously, keep them! An F-body w/o SFC handles like a fat girl chasing a cupcake...an F-body w/ SFC feels more solid. I'm putting them on my 'vert b/c I want my car to last...i.e. no stress cracks in the quarter panels, squeeks, rattles, etc.
