Default Air shifter install pics

Figured I'd throw these up here in case anyone was thinking of doing the same thing. Made some passes Saturday and so far this works 100%, I had originally put a Shiftnoid solenoid shifter in for a while but had problems with it working every time, mostly it would overshoot and shift from 1st to 3rd.

This ACD uses a blocker on the 1-2 shift to make 100% sure it cant go too far. Little pricy but the control box works great and has a delay so it makes the 2-3 shift every time, the biondo shift controller I had before wouldnt catch it all the time.

I know most here have no use for something like this and if you have a glide (or 4l60) its not a big deal but my 1-2 shift is usually right when the front wheels come down and its nice to concentrate on the track that first 60 feet or so instead of looking for the shift light. I wanted something that would fit under the console and use the shifter I had in the car (B&M prostick), plus would be easy to swap back to manual quickly if I had to. All I have to do is unplug the box, take the it and the bottle out and swap gate plates on the shifter and its back to shifting manually in about 10 minutes. Here is a few pics of how it all looks..

That's a super clean install. Wouldn't expect anything less from you though....

It took longer to do the shifter than it did to swap in the new short block and freshen up the trans. Running out of room under the console

They dont make a 3 speed bandit shifter though, there are a zillion powerglide air/electric shifters out there but the pickins are slim for a TH400 shifter that wll fit under the console.

Carpet is from ACC, same stuff some places used to sell as 'lightweight' carpet. Its molded and doesnt fit perfect but I dont have to glue it and its all one piece.
