Default Do you need an ebrake?

I swaped a 9 incher out of a ls1 car in my 96 a couple of years ago and just now got the parts to make the ebrake work, Do you need it? Does NHRa or other rules say that you need and alternative braking system or no? Thanks fellas

I dont see how..Most the cars you see at the track dont have one..If you drive the car on the street and it's a six speed it's nice to have one though..

I don't think it is needed and you can get away without using it on the street. Just put it in first gear or any gear for that matter when you park.

There are no NHRA requirements for a car to have a functional emergency/parking brake.

Mine never worked after the 9" either.... what "parts" did you get to make it work?

The drag brakes I just bought eliminate it completely... so I'd say you don't need it.

As far as track stuff it is not required. If you didn't notice 99.9% of drag style brakes don't have an e-brake.

I haven't had mine for a long time since I broke the drive shaft and it tore the cable up.

My car has a spool so I just turn the wheel all the way to one side and it works like a parking brake =)

Thanks fellas, I took it all of from the axle assy when I seen I didnt have the stuff to make it work( basicly the 2 seperate cables) I picked them up cheap a few months back and didnt know if I needed them. Im going to an auto swap so Ill have park. It has been abitch though with a 6 speed and no e brake, But like saod the spool has helped.
THanks fellas

Moser DOES offer the Willwood drag brakes with the e brake option, i believe its +100 over the standard cost of drag brakes.
