Default Installing Hurst Quarter Stick have ???

I just ran my bracket to my transmission and installed the cable. I ran the cable inside the car and I have almost 3 foot to much. How would you route the cable to keep it from binding?
I made a flat plate that fastens to the stock shifter bolts. I've read that you need to make a spacer for the shifter to set right with the console. Anybody have any pics or any tips for me? Thanks

We used aluminum tubing from home depot for spacers on a buddies car. Worked good. Just buy about a foot of it in the hardware section and cut it different sizes to desired hieghth. I think the longest one was about an inch.

I leave the cable outside the car. It is looped wide over the top of the transmission before entering the car. It stays on the top of the transmission and out of the way of any moving parts. Once it enters the car it just goes straight to my shifter.
