SMKN TA 95 - could you get a good pic of your clearance between the throttle body and the cowl? i'm looking to run a carbed setup, and the way yours is done looks great for me, and gives me a couple of ideas, but i'd also like to see exactly how much clearance is back there...
thanks in advance...

One other thing I fogit to mention as I have looked into doing this, you have to go to a hood that goes to the windshield, or it's gonna look really dumb with a big gap bewteen the end of the hood and the windshield that will now have nothing there. So, you really have to go to a pin on style hood.
When I said I didn't have the $ to do it, that's why. Between the hood, getting the body work done and of course repainting the entire engine bay, it's like a 2000 dollar project. Sure the hood and the metal removed is probably 50 lbs, but it's alot of $

I did it today. The car will never be the same I cut the cowl and I removed the whole lower section. I was going to do it like smokin but I don't want to buy a new pin on hood at this time. So I left a few small spots so I could bolt the black pastic back on to cover it. With the plastic on you can't tell anything was cut unless your looking real hard thru the cowl covering. It will make using a rear mount distributer easier but it will stil be a pain. I can post pics later.

Pin on hood, and you're probably gonna end up cracking thw windshield eventually, because oen decent tap in that area ( removing a motor, whatever) is gonna crack the windshield for sure. BUt, a plastic windshield, will solve that issue. Personally, I'll probably do one at the same time.

Dude, that looks pretty cool. Did he weld in filler pieces or just cut everything super close? I want to do this but i dont wanna start welding in filler pieces, just too much work IMO for no real advantage. And you cant really say weight savings cause your welding in metal back in. So for myself, its not worth it just to take the engine out cause mine never comes out, lol.
But did your buddy weld in pieces or is that all just cut off? Got any closer pics??
