How fast?
If his car performs like mine did then he'll be lucky to get a 12.9 -13.1 even on drag radials. The gears will help his launch but a stall would help it a lot more. With a 3400-4000 stall I could see 12.5-12.8.
Add LT's to that stall and say hello to the times in my sig (if not a little better with his 3.73's).
My 2000 A4 Formula with 3.23 gears, lid, K & N, FTRA, flowmaster catback and M/T sticky tires goes 13.30s at 103-104 mph with a 2.05 60 foot in summer and 13.0s at 106-107 mph with a 1.93-1.95 60 foot in good fall/winter air (under 500 DA). The gears will help some, but the stock convertor will hold you back.

I had buddies one with a Formula, the other a Z28, here were there mods
Lid
cutout
converter
free mods
Cats removed
drag radials
Both cars ran 12.40's
You are a converter and drag radials away from easy12's
I had another buddy with a 2001 SS six speed car, only mod was a lid, on showroom tires, 12.80@110 mph...I was there, I saw it...he CAN drive.
All the above times listed abover were at sea level in good air.

You got a 13.1 ET from a car trapping 108 because the 2.73's and stock stall are both holding you back from anything that resembles a hard launch. That trap is good for mid 12's with the right gear/stall/tire.
My 98 T/A M6 ran 12.9@109 with just a cutout back in 2000
Does not take much to run high 12s in these cars.
This question belongs on the tech side, so use your first thread. I've merged the two for you.

Evan smith went 12.89 @ 108 in a stock M6 LS1 way back when. But 6 speeds have better gears (3.42) and more rwhp (less drivetrain loss). But that is irrelivent when discussing A4 performance and capabilities which is what this thread is about.
