Any 1.4 60fts. on BFG drag radials?

I'm torn between the BFG DR's or going back to ET Streets, since the MT DR's are on back order. I need to know if i can hook my usual 1.4 60fts. on BFG's or should i just thorw the ET Streets on? I like to drive it every now and then but the ET Streets might limit me on doing that.

BFG DRs: 275/50/15
ET Streets: 26x11.5x15

whats the set up consist of and how hard are u hitting the tires....?

i was bale to go 1.55 on 17 inch bfg's so they hook pretty good

The BFG's are not a bad tire but require alot more work to get them to hook when compared to an M/T DR. They are pretty unforgiving on a bad track. I went a best of 1.42 on the BFG's but it took a good amouont of work and it was not very consistant. Bolted on the M/T's and went low 1.3x's all day long and eventually high 1.2x's. I would probably run the et streets over the BFG's unless you want to spend some time working on the chassis and your launch technique to get the BFG's to work.

The car is full suspension setup that pulls mid 1.4 60fts. NA all day long with a best of 1.43 on MT DRs. I do have a nitrous kit on the car as well but the track that i race at seems to lack prep for me to hit a 150 shot off the line,so im launching it on motor then hitting the nitrous after the 60ft. mark.

It all depends on the car and the track. I have been in the 1.2x-1.3x with both the BFG DR's and the M/T DR's in the 325/50/15 size on 10" rims. However, they are both good and bad...if you spin them, they will NOT recover like a bias-ply slick / cheater slick...same thing for radial slicks not recovering as well.

I do prefer the M/T's better for a true race tire, but the BFG's in their old (still available) tread pattern look more of a "street" tire like a Nitto DR does and they wear a bit better. My 6-year old BFG's are still going strong on Torkman15's SS M6 and he loves them. He's towing down next month to Red River to run in PINKS ALL OUT with me and some friends. He'll probably be on the old BFG's.

Take care and good luck. Dave

They don't get many street miles or passes...I have three sets of rears (325 DR's, 29.5x9 radial slicks, and 28x10.5W bias-ply) that share in the beatings.

I'm going to bite the bullet and try the BFG DR's.

RUQWIKR,i'll probably be at the pinks all out next month but more or less watching and drinking a few cold beers :D I don't get into the pinks deal because it seems to me that the people who run that cracker jack outfit don't know anything about cars. I'll stay out of it and let you guys have fun with them

The allout is pretty fun, I went to one last year, and am going to the E-town one this year, chance to win 10 grand, 1 out of 450 is gonna leave with a good bit more $ then they got there with, at least 3 more should leave with at least a grand, I'll take that chance, better then the lotto.

I just use it like a test and tune day too, chance to run on a decent prepped track, maybe get on tv, really a no lose situation.
