Default best way to saw metal under wiper assy???

I need to remove damn near all the metal under the windshield assembly (i removed all the plastic) cuz i'm running a VFN 6" Sunoco trim to fit cowl hood and it goes all the way to the windshield..... the motor is still in the car. I intended to cover the engine with plastic and attack it with a sawzall....

Is that the best way short of a plasma torch???? And the metal is in two levels seamed together. any tips or ideas to get it all out of there and so it looks good????

grinder with cut-off wheels works great for cutting the top part near the windshield, better chance of chipping the windshield if you use a sawzall. air saw works pretty good for getting the bottom near the firewall.

they are the biggest PITA.... get wd40 or liquid wrench then put the wiper in the up position and just wiggle back and forth while pulling up and they should eventually pop rite off

I used a cutoff wheel to get rid of the metal.

The wipers are a PITA! I was pulling mine off that it slipped out of my hand and cracked the windshield! Granted, if it wasn't already cracked from the nitrous backfire, I would have been taking a little more time to get them off. But I was pissed non the less...
