When running at the track, what stiffness do you guys set the shocks to? I have AGXs with Stranos and tubular LCAs.

I called KYB asking questions about this shock/strut and here is what they told me. When you adjust the strut or shock it not only affects rebound but your compression too. So I asked is there any desirable setting for use at the drag strip, and their answer was the primary use of their shock was for handling and conerning purposes, not straight line performance, and this is why I am ordering QA1's...

i ran front and rear AGX shocks for about 3 years at the track with my stock cubed motor. the car was an 02 WS6 and it was lowered 2" if i were running a sticky tire i would run the back shocks one click from stiff and the front shocks 2 clicks from loose. i had a 232/236 cam, and home ported 5.3's with ls6 intake. car weighed around 3600 with me and on a 150 shot would cut 1.37-1.42 60' times consistantly and ran 10.2-10.4.

^^^ **** that's badass!! What tire/size? What other suspension pieces were you running? You were spraying off the line right?

i did that on 325/50/15 m/t radials. adj lca, lca relocation brackets, adj panhard bar, umi tunnel mount torque arm, weld in sub frames, that was leaving at 4400 off the transbrake on the th350 and spraying out the hole. also that was when it had a/c stock brakes, etc

Nice, i have a chance to pick up a couple sets of that same tire for free. Brand new too. I have almost all the same suspension mods, minus the n2o and auto trans. I will be using a 2-step and WOT switch interlinked when i spray though.

How hard was it to fit the tires?

I have KYB's on the front and have them set of the softest setting. As said before their setting are for compression and rebound stiffness not one or the other like a drag shock. With no front swaybay they work fine for me untill I can afford somthing more drag spefific. Decent weight transfer without any front end bouncing while shifting.
