Default Gutting all underhood wires??

Just got back from the track and there was an SS there that the wires were totally gutted. Both underhood fuse boxes were gone along with all the wires down the passenger side. Has anyone done this? They weren't relocated...they were gone. The guy said he got some kind of race harness from GM and hardwired the motor?? He still had the PCM and all the MAF and TB wires that I could see. Said he dropped 150lbs getting rid of everything.

Thats Tom the roofers car more then likely. How did his car run tonight? Oh and btw, you will still use the factory engine harness, you just have to rewire all of your lights, horn etc..

I am doing something similar with "Project Retro", but the fuse boxes will still be up front. Otherwise, much of the wiring will be hidden. You can follow my progress in the "Appearance" section.

Thats Brian. Bad *** car. He is a member but I don't know his user name.

I just got back from KTRE with my new gears. I'm off to install the chunk. It's 5:15 pm. See how long it takes lol.

it just runs ur lights pw,pl wipers etc.
u make ur engine harness stand alone.
just like putting a engine drop out in a street rod or a older car.

I am confused

Do you mean that it doesn't have any wiring for the tranny at all. Just the engine?

What about dash lights, speedo etc?

thanks for any clarification

Chris
