hey guys i just read over both of those threads listed above, and it seems like the guys that are hooking the best are running about 22 psi, with small burnouts, my question is should these small burn outs be done dry or wet?

This is a good question.

I'm sure there are a lot of variables involved, but, is there a rull of thumb for how many passes a set of drag radials should last?

It depends on the tire itself, how big of burnouts you do at the track and how much street driving you do. I had a set of MT DR's that lasted 4 years, however they mostly saw the track until this year. Then I switched to Hoosier DR's (which are great) but are much softer and wear alot faster compared to the MT's.

Could use some insight as to what would fit best on a 17 x 8.5'' C5 wagon wheel. MT or Hoosier? I know the MT have a smaller recommended measured width than the hoosiers, but the hoosiers are lighter and shorter.

Any thoughts?

I've used both. Stick or auto?

How much power? And, if a stick, what clutch?

Auto? Hoosier 275/40/17
Stick? <400 - stick car/stock clutch - Hoosier 275/40/17
Stick w/ aftermarket clutch - bias ply.

The car is an automatic.

Right now the car is bone stock, but at the beginning of next season the car will have Kooks 1 and 7/8'' headers, Vararam SC CAI, and tune.

By the end of the season, the plan will be to throw in a cam and 3600 YANK stall on top of the above mods listed.

Hoosier is a bit stickier and won't last as long. The M/T of the same size is a better tire for the street, and will still perform well for your setup.

Do I need to worry about the tire crowning at all since they are meant for a 9-11 inch wheel?
