Air Bag Sensor Under The Console. How Do You Take It Out Putting in a aftermarket shifter and taking out the air bag sensor can i just unplug this without it going off

Thats what I did...just be careful how you handle it until its unplugged. But I just unplugged it and then unbolted it. You're talking about the sensor under the center console?

Ive pulled a zillion of these over the years... If you unplug the battery first and then unplug it you'll be completely fine... Never had a problem. If you're really worried, sit in the back seat when you do it 
But no really its no big deal... Ive never found the airbags on these cars to be too overly sensitive or quirky.
