didnt know where this should go but since the weight reduction list is in here i figured it was as good a place as any.
anyway, i may want to shave off the 30 or so lbs with speed incs carpet but how much more road noise is there? i'm sure its noticable but how much so? if it's really bad i think i could live with what i've got but if not i would like to drop some weight.

Yes, You will notice more road noise. It does remove weight which means faster times. :p

I noticed more noise but I also removed the sound insulation underneath. Keep the sound insulation and it won't be bad at all.

Oh, and you will not shave off 30lbs with Speed Inc's carpet

hmm, I didn't notice any more road noise, and I measured my weight loss at 29 lbs, this was with stock carpet with the insulation already removed.

My lightweight carpet's shipping weight was 19lbs...I don't think my stock carpet w/o insulation weighs almost 50lbs?

I could be wrong (and probably am)

I also removed all the sound deadener on the Speed Inc. carpet though. Don't know how big of a difference that made.

my stock carpet weighed 32 pounds on a scale used for chassis setup (under each tire type). lightweight carpet weighed 14.

Exactly what my factory carpeting weighed with insulation intact. I removed as much of the insulation as I could and reduced the weight to 24 pounds.
