7300 rpm safe with arp rod bolts and forged pistons?
Can I safely spin my motor to 7300 rpm for one trip to the track? Ive got stock crank/rods /w ARP Rod bolts & Forged pistons. The motor is making 550 rwhp on nitrous. I will be shifting the car around 6600 rpm 1st and 2nd gear, but i need to take it up to 7300 in third gear to pull all the way through the 1/4 mile.
Do you guys think its going to hurt parts for one trip to the track, around 5 passes or so.
Im running out of gear around 1000 ft mark at the track @ 6800 rpm. Ive got 3.91 gears /w 28" slicks and i run out of gear @ 128 mph when i can pull to about 135 in the 1/4 if i had the gear.

You might make 5 passes.
those rods aren't the best, when you have that much power and spin it that hard you are pushing your luck.

I set up my 348ci LS6 to run 7200-7300, but I did the following to make it (hopefully work):
Crane single springs
Y/T 1.7 rockers
.005 lifter preload
Comp R lifters
Aggressive but not super aggressive cam lobes
I have a hydraulic setup.
We'll know if it's working when we dyno the car and we'll see if it's still rising up there.
