Default carb guys with extended hoods step in please

how are you getting cool air to the carb?

I've heard some guys cut the hood/cowl back away from the windshield to allow for cooler air to come through the back side. any recommendations?

The previous owner cut out the extended portion on mine since it fit so poorly and to get adequate airflow. The scoop still goes to the windshield and I have had no air issues. Also, it helps the car cool in the summer months.

hmmm - i hope thats not my only option...i'm cutting the cowl back to the glass....

get a billet grill and cut out the plastic behind it thats what i did when i had a 408 and procharger on it with a FMIC

still sucking hot air that runs across the engine unless you have some sort of tubing, and that would not look to good IMHO.

i'm thinking my only option will be to cut the hood back from the windshield a little bit and do this:
