C6 Z06 cam/heads results
This is an 08 we've been working on for a while trying to perfect a package to market. We started with a brand new car, that's why the numbers are lower than usual. C6 Z06s put down 443-445 bone stock on my dyno repeatedly. They're very predictable. I reckon the before numbers are due to it not being broke in.
Anyways, the customer request was a car that made well over 500 rwhp, but without the driveability issues of a big cam. So, we put a "punk" cam in it, KOOKS 1 7/8ths, catted 3 inch x pipe, RPS clutch, ported the intake and t-body, and had Shawn @ Va Speed help us out with some head work. He flowed them, did some port work, we installed some REV stainless exhaust valves, and did a multi angle competition valve job.
We were hoping for 500 plus, with exceptional driveability, and a nice gain in low end torque. We ended up with almost a 100 hp/100 tq gain at peak, and a gain of 75 ft lbs at 2200, and over 400 ft lbs at 2 grand!!! I'm thinking this thing will pick up 10-20 more after a thousand miles or so. It has less than 50 miles on it right now.
The car idles at 700 rpm, has a noticeable lope when cold, but when warmed up, you can hardly tell at all that it has a cam in it. It was a breeze to tune.

Those heads worked out pretty good, the exhaust side is terrible from the factory-it didnt take alot of work to make a pretty decent improvement-didnt really increase port volume much-was trying to keep low end torque.

Very nice considering the motor hasn't even had a chance to break in. Since you are working on a pkg to bring to the public, I suppose its too early to ask about specs etc etc.
At any rate that thing should rock.......

I know Ed. My frc is around 3180 and those c6z can be shifted north of 7000 rpms with a good tune. That's probably why I was having so much trouble trying to beat Fadi the other year. He stayed in gears forever it seemed and pulled all the way. However thats why I picked 150 as my cutoff, because thats the end of 4th gear and c6z won't be at its peak yet. I'd need all the help I can get against a h/c c6z.
