Whats the lowest Rpm you can start a dyno Run ?

with a 6 speed car, you want to make the run in 4th gear. so starting under 3k would be a problem.
with an auto, you dont want the car to kick down to a lower gear, so you wait until a little over 3k to start the run.

Mostly to keep heat out of the engine. We are looking at the torque curve and HP peak so starting too low is not worth it.On my dyno starting a run at say 1000rpm would throw the coolant temp to 230+ by the end of the run.So starting the run so low is not worth motor damage.

Only one time I started the dyno in 2000rpm it was in my friend's 04 Viper SRT10 full exhaust/ intake I wanted to see the TQ and let me tell that thing pulls hard 2000-4000rpm more than 4500-6000rpm LOL.
made over 440RWTQ at 2500RPM Peak TQ was 490RWTQ 4200RPM
I always start at 3000rpm though.
