Default Trans am WS6 Cam only Dyno results

2000 Trans am WS6 6 speed

MTI lid
Kooks Lt's w/ ORY
SLP LM1 CB
P&P Throttle Body
Under drive pulley
Stock LS1 Intake
Stock 241 heads
Custom Grind Cam 227/233 on a 112

399hp 378tq
Mustang Dyno

The driveability is great. The car has minimal surging at around 1000 - 1200 RPM and a tad at around 1600rpm. It does sound really good at idle.

With just a Lid and cat back the car did 333hp and 333tq on the same dyno with no tune.

So I picked up 66hp and 45tq. I gained power from the bottom of the rpm range all the way up to the top. The stock LS1 intake manifold does seem to be hurting my peak numbers however.

More modifications and track times coming soon.

Special thanks to Slowhawk Performance for tuning / install.

get rid of that ls1 intake for an LS6 and you should be seeing close to 410/390. congrats!

Nice !

You have a strong car. Some are just stronger than others.

Maybe your Cam grind and the combo of parts, tune ?

On a Mustang too. Damn !

Great job, yeah that's a tad higher than I expected too, nice.
Great you even go some more room to grow.

So I gotta ask how is the low end power with those higher exhaust durations? Looks like an awesome cam for an ls1 intake and stock heads. The 241 are a good casting, almost as good as 243's.

Either way the stock intake and heads flow better on the exhaust side so I can definitely see why the cam is working as well as it is with the stock top end. Lift must be right around .590 huh?

Geat job either way, those little things like TB's, ORY's, and underdrives do add up and it shows.

You don't cam your car to get good gas mileage..Mine only gets 4mpg less(unless I beat on it) and the damn thing isn't tuned yet. The polluter is deffinately not for someone looking to maintain stock gas mileage.

Here is the graph. This is the most populer Cam we sell because the drivability is extremely close to stock and makes power the whole curve while peaking around 6000-6200rpm.

I'll be at NED tomorrow so I will post the results. Hopefully the 10 bolt and stock clutch hold up until I upgrade.

Excellent numbers! Looks like a great setup you got, with room to grow. The car looks great in white too, and more pics of it?

The car is real nice for the year/mileage. The undercarrage is rust free which is nice up here.
