Default PTK / 'eBay' turbo kit, stock bottom end

A lot of people ask for a graph from this setup.

This is Orange99Z's car. It is an 01 Z28, M6.
MODS:
EPP's "FI CAM" and supporting springs
"eBay" (PTK clone) hot parts
turbo is a TC78
owner fabbed cold side and Griffin Radiator
Snow Progressive methanol system with 100% meth
60lb injectors / twin Walbro's / return-style setup with FMFPR
9" 3.70 geared rear end

This car makes 8ish PSI on the street but only 6-7 PSI on the dyno. It spools quicker on the street than it does on the DJ224 that we put it on. The car was 95% tuned on the street with a wideband and HPTuner's custom 2bar SD OS.

Besides the differences in boost between pulls, the only other difference was adding 2 deg of timing between pull 1 and 2 and adding about 1.2 more deg between pulls 2 and 3.

It's a TC78.

This is not a 'happy' dyno at all. I was impressed with the numbers given the boost level.

Thanks man. I'll try and get some pics of it, I don't have any right now.

And thanks again Steve for your helpful tips and your awesome tune.

Good numbers!

Hey Steve, what was the total timing you ended up running with the meth? I'm curious so I know what ball park I should be shooting for to end up at after I put a meth kit on.

It was surprisingly high... about 19.2deg around peak tq and 21.2 up top. This is from pulling through the gears on the street too, I'm sure it could have been pushed even a little higher on the unloaded dyno, but that's where it was at on the street as tuned.

Donnie was the best prepared turbo customer I have ever had. We didn't have to work on or adjust A THING! He got the car up and solid on a mail order tune and when he got here, we were able to get right to business. It was incredible and something that I NEVER expect from such a setup

What rpm does the boost come in at?

Nice #'s, and it looks like your track times back it up, congrats.

lol, usually there is always something that messes up and im sure you know that all too well. I've had a problem with the header bolts backing out, so thats something to watch out for.

Did you do some pulls without the meth, if so what timing did you end up with there? I'm running 15*, just curious that's all.

No; none off the meth. It was flowing rather heavily I would expect, even with the meth, that we would be a little lower around the point the car sits on the stall if it were an auto.
