Ported 241's and Cutout Results

http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u.../dynograph.jpg

Red is with Cutout open
Solid 6 whp and 7 wtq gain from the cutout

I made 409 whp and 394 wtq before the ported 241's and cutout. Note that I also have a 12 bolt with 4.10's now as well. So if I factor in the loss from the 12 bolt I would guesstimate a 30 whp gain from the ported 241's.

2002 Trans Am 6-speed
Advanced Induction ported 241 heads
Custom Comp Cam
Bolt-Ons
12 bolt w/ 4.10's

Pacesetters with Magnaflow cb and a summit Cutout

FrankSSCamaro Mar 12, 2010 01:13 PM

damn, im gonna get some cutouts....it cant hurt. 7WHP is hard to argue with

spdygon Mar 12, 2010 07:26 PM

may be wrong but i have seen setup like that be near 450whp.
or does a set of after market heads make that big of a diffrence?AFR,TF,etc.

zlicious94 Mar 12, 2010 07:47 PM

AI ftw!! They are doin big things with lt1's and ls1's :usa:

Yes they do, they flow even more than a ported 241, especially with a FAST. That would put you at 450

Let me clarify a few things here...

Bruce was a ding dong and went to the dyno without me ( ), so I wasn't able to dial the setup in. If I was present with him on the dyno I could've probably got the car in the 430-435rwhp and 400'ish TQ range.

Which is a respectable # for Stage 1 241's, 12 bolt/4:10's, stock intake, and a rather small 228/232 cam. The heads have stock valves.

We'll get some better #'s when Bruce and I can schedule a time to go together to the dyno for some adjustments. These are preliminary #'s.

asthmamax11 Mar 13, 2010 11:32 PM

definately preliminary #'s. I'm still impressed the ported 241's gave me as much as they did though!

Damian Mar 14, 2010 04:25 PM

Yep.

Nice big fat TQ curve though. Thats what matters.

Detoxx03 Mar 15, 2010 08:06 AM

Thats a pretty good gain from the stock heads

TTA1437 Mar 16, 2010 08:45 PM

Great numbers! Sweet combo and I love the Keep it Simple Stupid rule that you are using with maximizing those parts.

Awesome man! Let Damian tune it. Post a video if you can.

Nice. Graph has a steady pull to it.

kinglt-1 Mar 29, 2010 11:17 AM

Nice numbers! Ai does great work!!

My exhaust sucks so bad I gain 17hp from a open cutout. I have kook 1 7/8 w/custom build off road and the power killer is the b&b tryflow catback. The b&b sucks for power...

Bruce, why were you being such a ding-dong?

Let us know how it goes. I am always curious to see how much cutouts affect HP/TQ.

Nice ride!
