disappointing 402 with L92's
I have been wondering the same thing about my 402. Speedy's did the tune, it has afr's, fast 90/90, tsp giant cam, 1 7/8 Lt's, high flow cats, and borla cat back and put down 455hp/458ft. I was expecting more as well, this is in a m6 2004 gto.
I have stock length trickflow pushrods, caddy llifters, stock rockers and patriot extreme (platinum springs). The whole motor is brand new, eagle,mahle etc. The car doesn't use or burn any oil. I guess maybe those springs could be bending the pushrods? afr is 12.8 to 1 across the entire rpm range. 29 degrees total timing, no knock whatsoever on 93 octane.
l92's suck.lol they are a lazy head and hard to cam for most. I wish i just bought trick flows 235's back when i was going to. But,lucky for us trick flow has a l92/'ls3 head coming out end of the year. I hear it is a killer head. i talked to ed at trick flow. they shrunk the large intake valve down and i believe it's a 11 or 11.5 deg head and flows like a 245 head. can't wait to see what it will do.

Really? I didnt have any problem making good power with my L92's.

All I have to compare it to is the GTO world to compare apples to apples. There's one with afr's, 2 cartek cars, and one with AI 243's-these 4 cars make more power than mine and are faster. Then again, these 4 cars run up north (where I run in the south) and all have FAST intakes that work with their heads where as, at least on stock ci LS2's, the FAST for L92 heads does not seem to work.
But there are dozens of others with high dollar heads and FAST intakes that make about the same or less and are slower.
