Cam Head install finished and dyno'd

List o mods

Stock bottom
TS 228R .590 114lsa cam
PRC 5.3L Stage 2.5 heads
Precision Racing 37lbs inj
Stock GM Head Gasket
PRC Dual valve springs
Stock rockers
Long tubes through cats
Fast 102 int and PTM 102 TB with (you guessed it) 102 MAF

First run is only tuned enough to allow the new MAF and bigger inj. Last is obviously a bit better. I am not quite happy with it though. The tuner couldn't seem to fix the hiccup at tip in. Blamed it on the large intake supported by the big drop in MAF readings. I know the cam can pull above 6200. AFR was around 12.4:1 at 6k. I am also getting a hesitation at VERY light throttle cruising. Happens about every 5-20 sec or so. At light load there is no hesitation. I haven't talked to the tuner just yet but wanted to get input first. I have HP Tuners so I can fiddle around if needed.

I think there is more in the tune. With stock 243's and a 224 cam I made 30 more ft-lb torque and 15 more hp.

IAT was a bit high so the timing was being retarded about 4 degrees. About 120F

That might be it. How do you like to 228R? I had the 224R and liked it a lot but I'm thinking of going a tiny bit bigger this time.

It has a nice bit of a lope to it. But the idle is docile. Like you said though it should have a bit more potential. I really like it but I'm sure I'll like it more once it's fully tuned.

you might not be happy with the numbers but at least that torque curve looks nice and strong.

You're right, it does I just think there is more up top in TQ and HP plus I think it can be smoothed out a bit more.
