Dyno'd my solid roller 418

Well here are my dyno sheets from last weeks pulls of my 418ci with auto trans & ford 9" rear

Converter was unlocked, it wouldnt stay locked on the dyno.

Here is the STD version of what I actually put down that day

Here is the SAE numbers

Finally here is the SAE overlay of many of my pulls during the tuning process.

Low on torque a bit what you think?...heavy drivetrain/auto though!

sounds sick OP!!

LIL SS Jul 5, 2010 07:08 PM

Can you tell us more about the full combo?
How big is the solid roller?
What intake is on it?
Headers and exhaust?

Thanks in advance.

250ish with .660 lift
FAST 96mm
AR 1-7/8" with 4" mufflex

Thanks.. I'm putting together a 418 as well right now.. Hyd cam, but Super Vic with AFR 225 72cc heads.. Puts my compression at about 11.25..

What is your compression ratio?

i have a feeling this is a case of the dyno is not telling the whole story. that engine sounded awesome. have you 1/4 miled it?
Which cam MFG did you use, LSA, advance? i'm looking at one myself.

blk00ss Jul 6, 2010 03:58 AM

What muffler on the mufflex catback? If it's the spintech, I bet you'd pick up another 15-20HP with a cutout...great numbers none the less tho!

nysbadmk8 Jul 6, 2010 08:11 AM

Unlocked Autos never made good dyno queens.. Good numbers man

Yes I had it at the track the day after, only managed to make one run down the track, but I managed a 10.8 @ 124mph. Here is a link to the thread with slip & video

Its a custom ground comp cam, 114 lsa

I actually have a 4" cutout and I didnt gain anything on the dyno, which was a shock to me aswell. I have the Mufflex 98402C-DT with the large spintech crossflow muffler

Gordon0652 Jul 6, 2010 09:33 AM

Nice combo!
I suggest adding two more straps in the rear - just incase...

ExceSSive Jul 6, 2010 12:11 PM

That sounded sick. What was the full run at the track? '60; 1/8th with MPH? I am thinking there is more in there, unlocked will never blow away the dyno but those are great numbers as is.

Ya, I still have to adjust my shift points for the 28" slicks, plus I am only running a 3.70 gear in my 9" rear.

1.568 60 foot
6.9 8th @ 100mph

I have a link to the slip in post #10

i think running fast manifold there is no need to go solid roller, the manifold simply wont support enough rpm to make the solid roller worth it... if you go to a good single plane or sheetmetal that the solid roller will really shine

Vic Jr would be a good choice.

LIL SS Jul 6, 2010 03:56 PM

Vic Jr you need to port.. Out of the box Super Vic with a dominator TB might be nice. Oh wait, probably can't fit that..

We're modding a super victor here we use in house at some point to make it a box ram with dominator top.

For now we just have a super victor with a CNC'd 4 hole conversion spacer for a dominator.

I agree. I think going to one of these intakes would produce excelent gains in the higher RPM range(+7000), but would also need to be complimented with a lot of converter and a lot of gear.

28"ers with a 3.70 gear!? I would think you would do a 4.10+ with that tire and a solid cam. What converter are you running?

I think your car runs awesome for your current setup, btw.
