Dyno'ed in 2nd I had my car Dyno'ed today. A stock 2000 TA A4, 3.23. And the Tech. said I had to do it in 2nd. B/C I would'nt get any more power in 3rd than I did in 2nd. I didn't really feel like arguing with him about it b/c he was letting me have 4 pulls for free. So I did my 4 pulls and got my results. My question is would I actually get more power in 3rd than in 2nd and if so how much more? Is there a percentage or a formula? Also my hood was closed so I wasn't getting any air except the heater's hot air which was above the car, so I know that also didn't help power. It was raining very hard and I don't know if that has anything to do with the SAE correction or not. Plus it is a pretty new Dyno, the guy still didin't really know how to work it like someone who's done it for a long time. I'm an idiot I know, can ya help a brotha out? Oh the numbers were 280 HP and 292 ft lbs torque. |
i had to dyno mine in second because of my top speed limiter being at like 120mph...typically ive heard 5-10hp more if you dyno in 3rd for whatever reason...it should always be done in third if possible because of the 1:1 ratio lata Bill |
usually u will see more power in 3rd...the best dyno results always come from a 1:1 ratio (3rd in A4s, 4th in M6s). |
