2002 z28 Bolt Ons: Surprised Me
Finally got a chance to go see Fran and his guys at Race Proven Motorsports today to have them finish out my first stage of mods with some dyno tuning.
Here's the breakdown on the car and mods (also in sig):
Stock A4, Stock 10-bolt (3.23), Stock Stall
Stock LS6 Intake
Whisper Air Lid
K&N Filter
Potz P&P LS1 Throttle Body
SSRA Ram Air (AC Version)
SLP 160* Thermostat
ARH 1 7/8" Headers
ARH 3" ORY
Corsa Catback
!AIR
Throttle Body Bypass
Powerbond 25% UD Balancer
Now, knowing how the parasitic loss is in automatics, and what I generally saw on here for other bolt on A4's, I went up to RPM telling myself I'd be satisfied if I put down 325-330 rwhp after getting tuned.
Man was I surprised...
Baseline (Bolt On, untuned): 332 rwhp / 350 rwtq
I was honestly kind of dumb struck, but eager as all hell to see what would happen with a tune, because I was running rich. So the tuning commenced, and I got this final result.
345 rwhp / 360 rwtq
(I know, scanner made it hard to see the 2nd set of curves)
I could be wrong, but when I saw those numbers, I thought something had to be up with the dyno, because that's crossing into decent M6 ranges. Monday motor perhaps? Either way, I left RPM pretty dang satisfied, and can't wait for Cecil to open up so I can go get some new 1/4 mile times

Should be running high 12's at least, maybe even mid 12's with a good launch and the right altitude.
I have seen a cat-back, lid, and tune only LS1 A4 with 2.73's run a 12.8. You have a lot more than that, so you could do even better.

It's a flat $350 for bolt on dyno tuning. They don't charge for every 2-3 dyno pulls and then an hourly rate for tuning like some of the other shops I've been to for other vehicles.

Thanks, I want to do a few more things to mine before I tune it, I see those guys have a lot of badass cars in there and stay busy. My tune was like 200 and thats not even on a dyno.
