Does this sound about right? 243's Torquer V3

Took my car to dyno. Just wondering if these #'s sounded about right.

02' Camaro, stock bottom end, 243 heads, Torquer V3 cam, Long Tubes, SLP LM exhaust, Auto thru 3600 stall, and 9" Ford Rear End.

It made 385 RWHP and 407 RWTQ

Have a graph? What brand dyno? Converter locked or unlocked? Ported or stock heads?

streetknight2 Apr 26, 2012 01:30 PM

I will see if I can get it, dynojet, no clue, and supposed to be PRC stage 1 ls6's

My buddy has a 02 Camaro A4, TV3, 799's and 3600 stall. He put down 420+rwh on a mustang dyno.

Ive got a V3 as well. I'm just trying to decide on a good head to go with it. Between AI243 and a prc 227

Sounds low IMO

streetknight2 Apr 27, 2012 12:53 PM

I'll get more info, car is still at the tuners, having a trans issue, so that may be part of it. I did hear the 9" rear sucks up about 15 HP

thehazz12 Apr 27, 2012 01:01 PM

I would agree with the others that said that seems low. You should also look into swapping to a bigger TB if you're still running the stock unit.
Edit: And was this a mustang dyno or a dynojet? If "mustang dyno", that's probably accurate as that would be 425-ish HP...

He said it was a dynojet i think

Torque is solid, HP is low though.

reeperz28 Apr 27, 2012 06:57 PM

Unlocked converter would make that kind of torque with that much lower horsepower. Just get some track results and see what it can do

streetknight2 Apr 27, 2012 07:07 PM

I think that was with converter unlocked, the trans issue I'm having is the converter doesn't lock until it goes into 4th, then it locks automatically. If you put the shifter in OD, it actually shifts out of 3rd after a split second and goes right into 4th and TC locks. Falls on it's face.

Ugh, hope it gets straightened out soon.

Yea my fears are probably going to haunt me also, I'm Installing ported 243's and a 226 234 cam and fast 92/92. Still rocking the stock 100k transmission with a mild stall. Yea when come tune time its gonna be bad lol. I willing to chance it I guess.
