477rwhp Lq9 milled 317's and a cam

Posted a bit back bout getting my car goin after taking a break for 9yrs due to life, worked the bugs outta the efi , had a bad computer from sitting so long In the heat.. Anyway, details of my experiment:
29k mile 6.0 escalade short block
Super Vic with 4bbl tb
Milled 317's .075 no port work , stock valves
250/250 HYd roller specd by my buddy Bret Bauer..
Coan 5k stall 8" converter
Th400
S60 with 4.56 's
All tuned by me..
All in all I'm satisfied with how it all turned out, ESP for the minimal $$$ I have in the conbo.. The sheets std car made 450sae for the sae guys, this is the first sheet he printed...

How big a tire you running with those 456's and how high do u plan on spinning the motor? Great job on a fairly low budget motor!

28"... See how it comes together at other track, I'll probably have to step down the gear a bit..

Were the cylinder heads angle milled?

IllusionalTA Aug 12, 2012 06:19 PM

They were not rolled.. Flat .100

The torque doesn't look right. Peak looks low, but it looks like it was low everywhere else.

I'd be interested in seeing what happens when the cam is advanced a couple degrees, if there is enough P-V.

IllusionalTA Aug 12, 2012 06:45 PM

I can do that fairly easily, my buddy used to own a dyno, and this wouldn't have a been a issue to play around.. P2v shouldn't be a issue.. i got room +/-10 deg.. :)

damn, So what about intake alignment? No issues? We milled 317's down .060" and had to fix the bolt holes on the intake. Bolts were going on sideways but it was worth it. 464rwhp.

IllusionalTA Aug 13, 2012 05:56 AM

Intake was milled and redrilled

Just a update , I jumped in on a rental yesterday.. Never installed any of my rear suspension stuff. So I paid for it.. Either way was a good time.. Car went a best if 10.51@128 with a 1.47.. Rear of car wouldn't hold any more.. And my rims were spinning in my tires.. Made 16 hits, and had a blast..

Can you tell me a little more about your combo....?
Standalone?

From what I have seen anything over .075 has PTV clearance issues... Were the pistons Flycut?

What was the weight of the car?

I am currently starting to gather parts to build my own LQ4 or LQ9 and this budget build is just what I am trying to duplicate.... in a 3100lb Mustang of course

Good job Steve!

Car weighs 3570 with me in it.. Pistons are flycut, running a stock PCM.. I have throw the car back on dyno, to ensure my afr and timing is optimal as I had to crank limiter up to 7k to get through traps, just did it safely to get through the day..

You put new springs in it too and got rid of the valve float correct Steve?
