How much power do you think I'm making?

I have a pretty good idea of what kind of power I'm making, but I'd like to see what some of the seasoned dyno experts think:

Stock LS6 with cold air intake, mail order tune from frost and long tube headers. No smog crap and the crank is only running the alternator and water pump. Would 450-470 be a reasonable guess at the crank? I remember reading LS6's were slightly underrated from the factory @ 405 hp. ??? I figure it'll be quite a while before it's strapped down to a dyno.

Thanks guys!

Through an auto or 6speed?

You're lucky to break 350 to the wheels.

Thanks man. It's a built 4L60E, which raises another question. What is the typical percentage power loss through a 4L60E?

(just read an article the other day about the new shelby getting dyno tested with only a 12% powertrain loss... freakin' amazing. )

440fwhp

i dont think those mods will result in 45 hp.. after it goes through the driveline the numbers will be lower due to the A/T

thunderstruck507 Dec 20, 2012 09:22 AM

I bet it's around 340-350rwhp.

What converter? Stock? Stock converter id say 370 RWHP and probably 350 through a loose stall like a vigilante.

Thanks for the replies guys.

It's got a 2500 stall on it, but here are all the specs:

350ish

Blackpanther99 Dec 27, 2012 09:40 AM

My guess is around 350ish also, seems about the right numbers for the mods.

s346k Dec 27, 2012 10:05 AM

I'd guess 360ish whp. a real tune I'd say 370. cool swap any track times? should roll out with that shoebox no go.

No track times yet... I need to grab a pair of slicks first. :D It's still a "no go" b/c I can't get a whole lot of traction when I put my foot in it from a dead stop (I'm working on that part).

I think I'm going to get the car weighed soon for shits and giggles...
