I think those gears will hurt your transmission quicker than higher gears. Good luck tho!

Why would 2.73's hurt your transmission more?

That's a lot of mods done to your car, how much money have you poured into that thing?

? yeah im in the same boat, how would the stock 2.73 longer gears hurt the tranny more compared to somthing like 3.73 or even 4.10s?

ill tell ya, i dont even know really anymore how much its cost me lol the turbo build up alone is about $5-6000. I also got a bunch of suspention mods and little odds and ends. so after paying $10,000 for the car itself, im probalby sitting at about $20,000 total with mods and car payment
not too bad i guess when i got alot of it form ebay. some guys im sure have spent WAY more then that when the cars where brand new lol like the $30,000 price tag these car use to fetch back in the day off the show room floor in the earily 2000's

The 2.73 puts more load on the transmission.

ok, learned somthing new today.
now to figure out why my car still isnt boosting past 5psi.
on one run run with the MBC set to almost lowest setting, got a 345RWHP run with about 3ish psi
couldnt get anything more then 5psi even with the MBC fully screwed in and actually started loosing boost when i did that. it actually worked better with the MBC on the lowest setting. with out the controller, i cant even get 1psi :/ so back to hunting down leaks.... waste of a day at the dyno
damn boost leaks. back to hunting down leaks.

Go out and ride your bike starting in a really short gear. Notice how easy it is to move? Now start the bike in one of the longer gears. Legs are burning arent they? Your legs are what the transmission is going through.

Whats confusing about it?

Well, short gears on a bike would be the smallest sprocket on the pedal assembly and the largest sprocket on the wheel assembly. The longest gears are going to be the largest sprocket on the pedal assembly and the smallest sprocket on the wheel assembly.

Is Speed Factory any good or do you just go there because they're close?

Now go out and ride your bike and start in first gear and try and ride 10 miles like that without shifting gears, your analogy is flawed.

Depending on dyno and temp 475-490rwhp. Lower end for mustang and higher for dynojet/dynomite.

I had never heard of them until you posted about the shop earlier but I don't know many people with fast cars here.

yeah i happened on their shop by accident. they deal mostly with imports as oyu can imagine around these parts lol but they have done a few ls vehilces here and there from what i gather on their FB page. other then being a little pricey, at least to me, they are pretty decent. Rich, the actual tuner is hard to gauge, but Paul the front desk guy is pretty cool.

ok.... what i dont understand is that most tranny and rear end horror stories come from having shorter gear like 3.73 to 4.10s couplered with high power and slicks
