Default Crazy gains from eps 234/246 camshaft

I just recently installed an eps 234/246 cam in my car. Car has factory 853 heads with an ls6 intake. First off I just want to say geoff at eps gave me the best customer service I have recieved the whole 7 years I have been in the ls game

Back to the car
99 trans am..car has 125k miles. Mods are as followed
Pacesetter longtubes with 3" y pipe, 3" magna flow cat back with cutout, ls6 intake, slp lid with ram air kit, fti 4400 converter, 3.42 gears.
Best bolt on et is 11.64 but is average 11.80 usually. Dyno numbers pre cam were 309/308 unlocked

I added the eps cam, btr spring kit, ls7 lifters, and some other preventative mods while I was in there. Final dyno numbers ON THE SAME DYNO were 388/346. That's a gain of 79hp and 38tq! Locked converter made 411/377. My previous car had the trex cam also made by geoff and the way the new eps cam comes alive is 10x better. Its a fast and smooth ramp. The car was still making power at 6700 rpms even with the 853 heads and ls6 intake. I have not regretted calling geoff and I hope after you read this thread you will use him too. I'm going to the track Sunday to see et gains

Those are good numbers considering the heads, intake and converter. Plan on hitting the track anytime soon?

Default Bolt on Dyno Numbers

No denying the end result are some good numbers but I think your bolt on numbers are low.

Geoff knows his ****, that's for sure. I love going to visit with him. Taking the SUV to him next week.

And with all the Trex threads lately, THIS is what folks need to read.

Nice gain! Why did you have the heads off for a cam install though? Just for the lifters?

I'm sure it's a great cam, and it will make a nice difference, but a "true" 79 hp gain from a cam only on your setup is not going to happen to be honest. I realize this was on the same dyno and all, but there could be other possible factors that contributed to the 79 hp gain that the dyno is saying

I can vouch for the accuracy of Geoff's Dyno.

When I swapped injectors and clutch, and went to 17x11 rears, I threw it back on the dyno.

6 months apart, and put down 451/416, where I HAD put down 452/417. That's a difference of 1 and 1 respectively.

This was before additional tuning and removing the MAF as it was causing a substantial restriction WOT. Final numbers of course are in my sig.

I'm ready to go with something more aggressive. I come real close to buying a used MS3 in the classifieds to save some money but I was a lil curious about all this EPS lobe technology being smooth & easier on the valvetrain. After talking to Geoff today, I'm probably gonna go with this 234/246 cam. I like the specs on the 236/248 a lil better but might have ptv issues.

those are really impressive cam only numbers for stock head/bottom end cars. seems like everyone seems to be pretty close to those numbers as well.

Do they release the lift and lsa?
