Default New heads & Cam results

A few months ago I posted results with my 243's & Hot cam. I came out to 370/363 to the wheels. It was good for a while but I felt like I wouldn't be able to keep up with a cammed & stalled Fbody in my GTO. So I gave AI a call & since I already had a set of 241's laying around I sent those in for the 219CC port job. Along with that i had them spec me a cam. With those mods I still have my UDP, long tube headers 1 3/4 pacesetters with cutouts & my LS6 intake mouth has been open up to 85mm. With the cutouts open it put down 430/380 to the wheels. This is with a stock air box with a drop in K&N filter. I'm darn satisfied not only with the numbers but the car pulls like crazy all the way up to 6500. I put this to the test against a 99SS that has a stall, cam, full exhaust & an air lid. The race was over when it started. I pulled by him so hard not getting traction till third gear. This was really amazing because I had continental street tires & he had Mickey thompsons & im sure they were drag radials. Granny shifting I beat him by 5-7 cars in the 1/8. Anyways with a Fast 102 & a ram air type intake on this car I'm sure it'll be closer to 460/390 to the wheels.

I plan to once the track opens back up. That's where my feelings would really get hurt lol. At best im striving for 7.0's-7.5's but I believe having the stock gear may hold me back somewhat on my 60ft.

Did you chose the high compression 241 heads? Nice results, probably 15 left with a fast.
What cam did you go with?

I'd say more like 20 to 25 with a FAST 102.

Why are the AI 241s putting that much more than AI ports 243? Or is the extra umphhhhh from the higher compression the 241s give?

I just depends on the combo and on the dyno. I've seen really impressive numbers with AI 243's too.

I didn't choose the high compression 241's. The heads were milled .020 though & the cam is an AI cam. I can't tell you who did the grind. The specs 230/238 .605lift on a113+2. To be honest even though it was a dyno jet that thing isn't forgiving at all. On my old setup with the hot cam & 243's the average person seems to make 390-400 with an m6. I expected 410-415 out of the AI heads & cam package but they definitely made a believer out of me.

Dyno numbers are a tool. You gained a lot of power and a lot more fun. I may send ai some 241s and opt for the high compression model and a bigger valve . I have a 4" bore.
My 241s are barely ported but make good power with a 2.02 . I have another set i can send him to do.

You really can't beat the AI 241 CNC program. I'd choose to go with the high compression CNC 241 program if I were you.

This is very true. I gained 15 rwhp with a FAST 90/90 on my heads/cam LS1. We swapped the same intake onto my brother's heads/cam LS1 and he gained zero.
