Kent, how many cars total have you had on the dyno? What did yours put down. You know you run 8's, so based on your ET and MPH, you should be able to see how close the dyno is to actual RWHP.

Mine put down 996ft at 4600rpm and 882hp at 5600rpm but started spinning very!!!! Bad at around 5krpm, thats with two guys (500lbs) and a 110lbs of lead weight sitting in back hatch. I think my car will be in the 1200-1300 range.
9-10 CARS TOTAL SO FAR... BOTH 5.3 BUILDS ARE THE ONLY ONES THAT MADE THE POWER I EXPECTED

Yea, I left last night halfway through compression check and all cylinders we did while I was there where good. Think we just had two to go but Kent likes to be cryptic and send pictures that dont exist on text so I dont have a full answer yet lol.

All plugs looked clean, so im hoping everything else came out with a clean bill of health. I believe the oil pan is going to come off tonight and bearings are going to get checked before the motor goes back in with a shiny new GM rear main seal~

They did go ahead and do a compression check on the 429ci car that made 389 on this dyno.. that turned up as good compression on that motor.

Sounds to me like it's the dyno then. What were the details on that 429ci?

Have to ask Kent about that one, just knew that it should have made a good bit more power than 389 even on a low reading dyno.

Well I know at least one of them was the very first car on the dyno, maybe they went and then the calibration got off after that? I think its leaning more and more towards the dyno. We will find out for sure Sunday. I should be there when you get on it.

That 429ci sounds pretty healthy. Glad the compression checked out good on the 6.0.

Kent, Sunday we'll get a good baseline as to what my car is making on your dyno. I'm ordering some 1 7/8" headers today that I'll get put on and get the car back on the dyno so you can do some fine tuning and get some more numbers. The headers I have now are 1 3/4" with a 2.5" collector so I think the bigger headers will help out a lot.

I wasn't able to make it out Sunday due to a plumbing issue in my house. I'm dropping the car off once the new headers arrive. We will get base pulls with my setup as is, and then once the new 1 7/8" headers are on, make some more pulls and do whatever tuning adjustments need to be done.

Kent pulled the motor out of my car to fix the rear main, and found that we had some bearing issues as well with the new motor.

A turbo car made something like 740/808 on the dyno the other day as well. Hopefully my car is back together this weekend, and either makes the power it should, or we find out that the dyno is off.

edit: clutch line didnt make it here from tick. More delays lol

just my 2 cents here and I'm sure some will or may disagree but...

I would put a new set of valvesprings on it and a set of comp trunnioned STOCK rockers and see what it does then. My guess is 430 or more.

That's good. I saw where the turbo Trans Am put down a good number on that dyno. My headers arrive Wednesday, so I'll be dropping the car off this week. I'll get some baseline numbers on his dyno, and then run it again after the bigger headers are on.

This car has been fighting me from almost day one..
Being stock bottom end we built it lil on the tighter side for oil clearances .0020-.0023 mains and rods.. Num 4 bearing was lil chewed up so we went back in and put different bearings in to get closer to .003.this while fixing rear main seal for leaking,,, we put the engine back together and for what ever reason i bent a intake valve putting rockers on num 4 cylinder dead on compression.. When we fired it up, this was after replace the front crank seal three times. Two federal seals the finally the third seal gm, same thing for rear main. Second seal is gm. O and thats the time i f---- broke the hyd. Clutch line pulling trans.... Cody im sorry it has taken so long on this thing but... Im done!!!! Going to go over it tonight to make sure all is good then she yours.. We **** happens it f------ happens bad...
