Tony, can you clarify please? I just want to get the closest guess. Does a copy(ish) of this build count as "any purchase"?

Good question....I forgot about the 255 head it's been so long

The larger better flowing head showed next to nothing on the dyno (3-4 HP)....and your bringing back haunting memories of the massive amounts of time I invested in that former combo trying to push it further along....LOL

My thoughts (having had alot of time to think about things later) was the intake I was using was just the limiting factor. Even all my gobs of epoxy and rework making it look better on the flowbench didnt physically shorten the runners or change the running dynamics of the design. It became the bottleneck with this many cubes and low 700's HP which when you consider it was designed for a 346 CID engine that made close to half that power isn't too terrible.

Will I offer a 10% credit on an expensive hand built engine such as this (which is extremely time consuming to build)....never considered someone would take me up on a complete engine purchase with my offer (just being honest). But....that being said....Im willing to go up to a $1000 on the 10% perk....basically the winner can purchase up to 10K in merchandise and you get the full deal. If you buy a 20K engine, you still get a $1000 off which is better than a poke in the eye right....LOL (For the record duplicating this engine is over 25K....it's a serious piece with alot of trick hardware and machine work!). Even more "conventional" sleeved block stroker engines can add up in cost quickly....this one has some extras that drive costs even more.

Also you must factor in that hand built engines at Mamo Motorsports are still built by me personally making them naturally more expensive (I don't have employees and much lower salaries building my engines). And to be honest, I would be better spending that time building and running my "core business" than building engines but I still enjoy it and (at this juncture) I'm still willing to do it for the discerning type of individual that's willing to pay a little more for the peace of mind of knowing it's completely optimized and built correctly. I only have the time to build a handful a year also and the lead times usually aren't pretty either (for a complete custom built engine) but there are some customers that are still a good fit for my "limited" engine building program.

Keep in mind if my costs for a complete build are out of the budget you can still buy all the correct parts from me and build it yourself or take it to a local shop to have it assembled. I provide you with all the unique and important ingredients....you just have to bake the cake! My engines are always dyno tested also before they ship so that is factored in the cost as well. You wouldn't want to invest this kind of money in a hand built custom engine and not dyno test it before installing it in your vehicle. This way I know Im handing you a perfect piece and you know your buying a perfect piece!

OK guys....will revisit the tread soon. Have alot to say but will keep my mouth shut till I post the numbers. That should promote some interesting and educational conversation I would imagine

Regards,
Tony

Based off of 711 fwhp = around 746 fwhp with 643ft-lbs of tq. And don't Copy my answer. LOL! Same engine. How much more effective is a Ls7 head with the cam being roughly the same? MSD intake is great so it'll help for better flow as well as more rpm or better Peak hp. 750 + would require more rpm (bigger cam for the MSD) or a Carb style intake.

12:5 compression is where the hp is gonna come from vs 11:5

Default Stop the press.....lol

GAVE YOU GUYS BAD INFO!! (Only slightly!)

While eating a late dinner this evening and discussing this engine with a buddy of mine I have known a long time it occurred to me the torque number of the baseline I gave you is incorrect!! The 650 I mentioned was from the first dyno and was never repeated....three further attempts to test this engine basically had peak torque in the 638 - 640 range.

Once again just to clarify, the former cathedral headed baseline should be:

-------------- 711 HP / 640 TQ ----------------

That said anyone who wants to change their former number combo (including HP if you like) is welcome to do so, however don't be pissed if you end up changing it to something further away....LOL

I just had to give you guys the correct info and the opportunity to weigh that in your best guess at the numbers. In fact you can change your numbers as much as you like between now and the time I officially release the numbers but the last post you make is going to be what your judged by.

Sorry about that slight oversight guys

Catch up soon

-Tony

Im not sure if your asking a question or stating your entry as 731 HP and 647 torque?

Also, knowing what I just posted may change your calculations. If you're asking a question try to be more clear because I found what you wrote confusing!
