388” ls3 hits the rollers with a new Cam! *hp\L*

Tuskey Z: A Mast smaller Ls7 head will generally make just as much if not more in general, port is smaller in terms of SHEAR size* runner placement is Key. CC can be very deceptive as well as CFM. CSA is a Better way to measure a port and general idea of how large a port is. Remember a 275cc Ls7 small bore port that's WAY smaller than a Ls3 FRH Stg1 268cc port. As stated the Ls3 has more intake choices. Those are a perfect head for a engine of that size Big Bore short stroke 4.130 x 3.622. Bigger port Ls7 heads May gain on the top but lose some on the bottom end. Mast Med bore Ls3 has a taller Ls3 port which is larger in terms of AREA vs a small bore Ls7 which is needed with RPM. I'd figure Hammer's making around 740 fwhp @ the crank which is NICE being a manual car. CSA is always matched to RPM intended, also the higher CFM head doesn't always translate to a faster car.... well known fact! Port must match the intended use and car info.
4.56 gear is PERFECT for that type of RPM and you've got that already!
Also don't short change yourself on LIFTERS, Look Ma that thing has NO bearings in the lifters as to Not worry about losing a lifter and have bearings spread throughout the engine.

Got a new PB. Weather was average. Equipment malfunction cost me around a tenth and mph. 2100-2400 DA.
car is running great but the track prep here is just too inconsistent to dial in a man pedal. Won the all motor class at my local Ls fest though!

Nice going Hammer!

Picking up 31 mph on the back half of the track is extremely impressive. That’s pulling hard. I bet you could surprise someone roll racing. Not too many will expect a N/A motor to pull like that on the top end.

thanks yeah it pulls aweosme on the back half— that Big split though can often mean you’re not utilizing the front half very well. Which I’m not. The track gets way to hot and greasy this time of year and won’t hold the car.

Super excited to hear your success with the sniper intake. I am looking forward to running it on my ls7. As soon as I saw that Hotrod test I knew it would at least match the performance of the FAST if you kept the revs up.
Any chance for a dyno test to break the internet? People love to hate on these things.
Most LS3's on this site would be in pieces if they hit 8000 rpm. Running longer in a gear and utilizing gearing to get down track is going to be worth some serious speed on track. Most are shifting into 5th at those speeds which really hurts the backhalf.

The low sniper is a good high rpm NA intake. Someone told me that it even has a bigger plenum than the tall sniper. I think a high ram would be a little better but way too much work to make fit. The sniper fits better than the fast does.
In my situation it will make less peak tq than the mid runner fast at 5000 rpm but more hp at 6000+. When I shift at 7900 it falls to around 6000 at which point The sniper makes no less tq than the mid runner but the hp really takes off from there. So the less peak tq at 5000 that the fast has doesn’t really get used
