LS2 GTO A4 Cam, Stall, Intake Results

ust got my car retuned at Complete Street Performance.

Major mods include:
Pacesetter longtubes
Xair intake
Thunder Racing 232/237 .590/591 12LSA cam
Fast 102
Yank PT4000
25% UDP

She feel great. We found the trans was a quart low after taking the car off the dyno causing the converter to slip an extra 500RPM's or so. Once we fixed that it tightened her up a good bit and likely picked up some ponies. Right now traction is little to nothing until 3rd in this cold weather and a 275 BFG street tire. Gonna put a MT back under her sooner than later and then look at some ported heads.

It's nothing special but you don't often see guys posting their unlocked converter dyno's, so I figured I would share it just as a reference point. Converter slip at redline is close to 850 RPM's

Keep in mind these are numbers with an unlocked high stall, high slip converter.
My old setup dyno'd 381 unlocked with a smaller converter and no FAST or UDP and a K&N intake.

that's not bad really with the converter unlocked. torque seems a bit low though but if you're able to spin the tires at lower speeds then may be better, plus the stall would def help compensate the lower torque down low anyways. what's timing set up as out of curiosity since AFR is on the leaner side at 13.06?

Weird looking graph

timing is at 28* on 93 octane. The converter hits hard as hell, I thought the torque seemed low too though. Anywhere in 1 or 2 if i stab it the car just spins the 275 g comps on it. AFR did have a fewer leaner spots in it but for the most part it was 12.8-12.9. Graph looks funny to me as far as the dip and coming back up but I talked to the tuner and another mechanic at the shop and they both said that's due to the converter.
I haven't gotten to play with the car much yet due to holidays, lack of traction, and shit weather. I figure with the converter locked it would dyno 430-440whp based on all the other dynos I've seen with this converter locked vs unlocked. Most guys seem to have a 35-40whp diff with this PT4000.

Next time I get it tuned I want to do a pull with the converter locked just to see what the graph looks like.

**edit** didn't realize I cut out the RPM's at the bottom, the pull is 5500-6900.

I'll post my results for comparison. Ls2 gto with ls3 heads, cam btr .612/.585 225/238 ported stock intake manifold. Made 441/412 on locked convertor all motor. Has a FTi 3800 triple disk. Only did a unlocked pull on nitrous. Made 521/499 locked on spray. When unlocked on spray it made 487/436 , a lose of 34 on hp and 63 on tq. My slip is around 350rpms at redline when unlocked. I ended up with a nitrous solenoid that wasn't opening all the way, didn't dyno anymore. Should have been alot higher... 150 shot

350 RPM slip at redline, that's a pretty tight and efficent stall.

I went back and looked at the datalogs of my last run at the track. It's more than 350, it showed 350 right at the 1-2 shift, looks like a flare. At 6200 in third it's 462 rpm slip.

That's still less than 8% slip and pretty dang good for the rpm. What rpm are you shifting and how far are the rpm's dropping back. Ive got a 3rd converter in my car trying to get a efficiency like that.

It's set to shift at 6200. On 1 log it showed about a 988rpm drop on the 2-3 shift. Drop back on the 1-2 is in the high 500's. I never shift into 4th..got it set to lock the convertor at 132 in 3rd.

I love the Pt series converter. Such a wicked converter imo

Yank? I first ran a yank....the 4k stall. It did great all motor, before I sprayed it. Ran like a 11.4, but once i put nitrous on it..it would blow thru. Only picked up 0.5 at the track. Sent it back and got it restalled to a 3600 nitous stall. Now it hit hard, ran about what the fti does now. Only issue was at cruising. With the lockup feature being PMW on the gto...it was constantly surging while cruising. Around 50mp was terrible, it got better up around 80, but still there. Was told it was because a single disk didn't like PMW on the lockup solenoid. So I tried a FTI and it helped a lot. Still have alittle at about 45mph in town, but hardly noticeable

ya, yank. The pt series is definitely not a nitrous converter but is a monster n/a.

I have pwm removed and my converter is set to lock up in 4th only and only above 55 mph.

Raise your lock up mph about 10 mph and that should help the slight bucking. ( keeping the rpms up a bit will eliminate the buckling)

yup I love it so far. This is my 3rd converter on the car and its solid. It literally feels like a small nitrous hit in 2nd almost

It's only set to lock in 4th. The surge isn't bad, feels like a small miss every once in awhile. I keep it there, so when I'm cruising thru town..it makes the exhaust a have loud low rumble....full slp header/catback system I also have the pmw solenoid removed. Got it set in the tune ... 95%min duty cycle and 100% max duty cycle
