RealQuick's 416ci TT Dyno

1 Attachment(s)
Dyno Session after new clutch... 93 octane and meth. Due to the 6psi wastegate springs in the gate, I could only turn it up to 15psi with the Truboost. I will be going back in a few days with more spring and retune for 20psi.

Here are the numbers at 15psi
STD #'s: 926rwhp/883rwtq
SAE #'s: 905rwhp/863rwtq

https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/ls1tech...840ce7fee4.jpg

Engine:
TSP LS3 416ci (416CID, 58x K1 Crank, Compstar Rods, Wiseco 4.070 -15cc,
ARP Main Studs, Boosted)
10:1 SCR
AI280CC LS3 heads/BTR.660 Ti
LS3 Ported intake and NW102 TB
235/231 .6XX/.6XX 115LSA (may change this, but worked really well on the single setup).
OE Lifters
LS3 rockers with Straub Trunnion upgrade
Melling Oil pump (hi volume)

Fuel: 93 octane
1000CC injectors
ZL1 Pump
ADM FPCM
Stock rails/lines

Alky Control Dual Nozzle Kit (15+10)

Power Added:
Huron Twin Turbo Low mount
Precision 6266's T4 .81
PW46mm Gates
A2A FMIC
Turbosmart BOV
Turbowerx Exa Pump

Ignition:
Granatelli coils (already have them)
br8's
Wires TBD

Tranny:
Stock M6 tranny
Monster Triple Disc
New Slave
Tick speed bleeder
Hurst Shifter

Rear:
Stock for now
3.45 gears

DSS aluminum 1 piece driveshaft

Tires:
20x11
Nitto 305/35-20 NT05R

Obviously there are lots of things I should upgrade and build for strength (fuel system, tranny and rear), and as money comes I will do that. For now I need a new motor and turbo setup, so that is the focus first.

Unfortunately the fuel limits were reached. It was pretty warm out too...

Timing was being pulled due to the temps in the shop... at 15psi I was getting 13.5 degrees timing vs 15 degrees last time. We didnt want to start modifying the timing tables for coolant temp.

Raw numbers weren't bad...

18psi - 945rwhp/983rwtq timing at pk tq 12 deg, 13.5 deg pk hp, 11.5-11.8 A/F

20psi - 990rwhp/1031rwtq.... but stopped the run at 5400rpm because it was lean timing at pk tq 12 deg, 13.5 deg pk hp, 11.7-12.0 A/F. Injector DC over 80% and fuel pressure was dropping off to 45psi during the run. It wasnt happy as hp peaked at 5100rpm as seen in the graph.

I called it quits at that point as I'll need to address the fuel system... Not bad for 1000cc injectors, FPCM and ZL1 pump. Meth really let me stretch this fuel system.

FYI... we were very conservative on the tune thru all boost levels as well were trying to get to the high boost. So we were high 10.8-11.2 thru the lower boost runs.

Here were the SAE numbers with the conservative tune:

8psi - 660rwhp/744rwtq (wastegate) 12deg/15 deg and 10.8-11.2 A/F
15psi - 872rwhp/894rwtq 12deg/13.5 deg 11.0-11.4 A/F
18psi - 923rwhp/960rwtq 12deg/13.5 deg 11.5-11.8 A/F
20psi - 966rwhp/1006rwtq (partial run) 12deg/13.5 deg 11.7-12.0 A/F

Conservative timing... need more fuel... made about 15 pulls... will go back after I address the fueling. She will absolutely do 1050rwhp for sure.

Nice man!

Why does it seem like it peaks so early? Peaking at 5800 with LS3 heads?

In Post #2 he mentions hitting the fuel limit. Would that do it?

Ah, missed that the run was abandoned at 5400. Makes sense now. Must be quite a bit more in it!

I think it will have more for sure in it when the setup is optimized.

Hey guys, thanks for the interest. A couple things going on… fueling for sure is why I didn’t push the car.

The HP curve being flat and peaking early is due to the intake setup I believe (3 feet of 3” piping and small filter feeding each turbo).

attached are the runs for 8psi, 15psi, 18psi and the partial 20psi pull. All the runs peaked way early.

ddnspider Sep 12, 2021 11:57 AM

Dang those inlet pipes are brutal. Would love to see it with no piping and some fuel.

Those snails are being CHOKED!!

RealQuick Nov 29, 2021 01:08 PM

I have a BAP installed but wont hit the dyno until after the winter. I will definitely try and ditch the pipes and mount filters right on the turbos.

slowride Dec 16, 2021 08:06 PM

If the pipes are really 2.5" that is pretty small. Is the boost curve flat all the way to redline?

yes, with three 90 degree bends before tge air reaches the turbo.

boost is pretty much flat…

Updates...

Installed BAP and removed those CAI's in the wheel wells (3" tubes with 4 90 degree bends) and fit stubby 4" filters right on the turbos. I am thinking this will really improve about and eliminate the power peaking super early (5500rpm). For those with Huron kits wanting to do this, I used K&N RU-2510.

How are the operating temps looking? Seems like a lot of turbo guys struggle to keep the engine temps under control.

RealQuick Mar 11, 2022 08:16 AM

High 190's.

I run a 160 thermostat and I adjusted the fan speeds.
