CAM dyno'd the car today

'99 TA M6
!fra, !egr
SSRA, smooth bellows, SLP lid, Mac headers, cat y-pipe, borla cat-back
pro 5.0 shifter, short stick

baseline had me at 325 hp and 334 tq
at the end of it all we got 340 hp and 349.5 tq

pretty happy with the results. Waiting till spring till I can get a track run in.

Gee, why didn't we know that? :bang:

Anyhow, nice numbers for a 99 w/those mods.

Thanks. Yes sorry. Carolina Auto masters did the tuning in Durham, NC. Great shop, Jeff Creech is the contact.

Well let's see if I can recall what all he did.. roughly... I know he changed the timing on the sparkplugs.. to around 25... dropped the !cags, !egr, and something else. Changed the a/f alot since the car was all over the place initially.. started off lean then rich then lean. Did a little tinkering with throttle response, and mm that's about all I can remember. He did 7 different tuning programs for it, twinking with it a little bit each time.. It was sitting at 337-338 for a few programs till he dropped the timing from 27.9 to 25.0 That put it at the 240 hp level. And we left it at that after taking it for a spin around town to ensure that part throttle driving was smooth and silky.

I was very impressed with the time and effort he took into helping me tune the car.

I had heard alot of peopel saying not to get it tuned after just headers and witht he few mods I had. But obviously in my case at least, it was well worth getting the tune.

I was getting an SES light, noticed a little sluggishness and thought the fumes fromt he exhaust smelled funny, and the 10 mpg was hurting. too early to tell if the mpg is back to normal. though everything else seems perfect.

Nice gains, it seems like Jeff gets good gains from whatever he tunes.

Ive had a few customer cars tuned at CAM, Jeff is a great guy to work with an a top-notch LS1 tuner. As you can see in this post, he pulled good numbers out of the car. He knows his shit.

He tuned mine also...He has the touch.. :hail: I highly recommend him

The first car I took to him is a very good customer and friend of mines car, an 02 Z06 w/ P1SC @ 9psi, cam, LT's, 4.11 gear, and a few other goodies. We had done a new fuel system and had upped the boost since the original blower tune, and when we took it to him barely idling and running pig rich, he had it tuned in 4 pulls. We did 3 more for shits and giggles, did some street tuning and it was a done deal. Car made 617 rwhp and 507 tq in case you were wondering. :)

yea im thinking imma have to make a visit and get him to tune mine before the cam even.. just waiting to see how long its gonna take to get teh cam in and all, before i pay for 2 dyno tunes.. i definetly need a tune for teh engine lights, and the tq management and all that gone as well lol. but if urs was that far off, and i got the same headers and am experiencing some of the same problems maybe i need to go ahead and make the trip

Jeff tuned mine also. Had it in 3 pulls. Did some a couple more with more/less timing/fuel to see if it would help. It lost power so it was back to the previous best tune. Did a couple street tuning tweaks and was done. Picked up 25/30 at the wheels :)
