Speed Inc 408ci / 12bolt / TH400 dyno numbers

Got my car back last week, only drove it home (7 miles) and for about 5 mins this weekend. Have not gone WOT yet until it breaks in, but you guys have no idea how much low end torque this thing has

Anyway, the LS1 GOD's at speed inc managed to squeeze 458rwhp / 532rwtq :eek2: this is through full exhaust, TH400 trans, 12 bolt

2000Hawk 02-08-2005 04:46 PM

sick looking numbers. you'll have a huge smile the first time when you get on it. just sit back and hold on. how does it sound, alot different than the 346ci.?

pdd 02-08-2005 05:37 PM

THAT IS FRIGGIN SWEET. good luck with it

Beast96Z 02-08-2005 05:53 PM

What kinda heads? Those numbers are great considering the power robbing drivetrain. It should fly.

VINCE 02-08-2005 08:16 PM

Those #'s are great for the tranny and rear setup..

Great numbers, what kind of Dyno? Mustang or Dynojet

Mean,

Your results are one of the few I've seen here where your torque rating is higher than the HP. This is typcial of Gen I/II small blocks. What's the HP/TQ RPM's?

What makes this combo different than the rest here which seem to all be low on TQ?

it's because the car has a TH400 and there is no lock up with a TH400

The Juggernaut 02-09-2005 02:15 PM

Maybe they didn't go WOT on the dyno if it wasn't broken in? :D

Pro Stock John 02-09-2005 03:36 PM

Very nice Ryan. Back in the day when I had an ARE 422ci, I did 450 unlocked and 475rwhp locked. I did 505rwtq locked. I went 11.02 so I'm sure your car is sick fast.

Nice meeting you last month at Speed Inc.

ahhh, you know what I mean. :) Dynoing is one thing, on the street is another. I'm not going to drive it and get on it - just yet. My cooler is not cooling the Th400 so I am taking it back for a larger cooler soon :)

Same to you John - Nice to put a face with a name.

Nice set up. Yea on the torque we forgot one thime to lock the converter and the torque went nuts over 550! Fun to drive though. Have fun.

Precision Industries offers a lockup kit and converter for the TH400.

Can you put that on, on top of the trans break?

Juiced 02-09-2005 07:07 PM

What size cam are you running?

The Juggernaut 02-10-2005 02:13 PM

It's broken in after 2 heat cycles. :)

FYI, nothing on my car was ever "broken in".

My car had a under 10 miles on it when I bought it.
I left the dealership @ Redline and drove it to the track and raced it. :D

Maybe just my car likes to be punished? LOL
