Default Are aftermarket heads even worth buying?

I see so many folks dynoing so high with a cam/boltons car from 400rwhp to 430rwhp without heads. What are your thoughts? I have an a4 car and am wanting to get the most n/a power possible. Oh, and I currently have MMS stage I 2.02/1.57 heads.

It really depends what you want - does torque matter to you? Is this a heavy car that you have to drive every day? I ask this because you can get high HP numbers on a dyno with a big camshaft only, but you might not be as happy with it on the street/strip as compared to a milder camshaft with nice aftermarket heads.

Torque does matter to me, and it probably is driven about 50 miles a week if that. I want the most hp out of it, for sure

As GTO_Newbie said, it really depends on your goals. How fast do you want to go? Heads are a good mod for power under the curve... A cam can get you > 400 RWHP, but it's a game of diminishing returns under the curve the more you go over ~390 RWHP or so on stock heads.

well seeing as how you already have aftermarket heads gain from a new set will depend on how good the old MMS's were.
