Default 2001ws6ramair's 408ci Dyno Sheet

He brought us the car in shambles. Unfortunately he was lied to about the car/motor by the previous owner who he bought it from. The motor was thrown together, no clearances checked, wrong pushrod length and many other things were wrong with the car (i.e. missing hardware, cut wires, old n20 wires shorting out fuses, etc.). The bottom end was built originally with diamond racing custom coated forged pistons -8cc 4.030 bore, callies forged 4.125 crank and oliver i-beam connecting rods. Very expensive, high performance parts that were turned into high performance junk very fast. We completed the rebuild by swapping out the pistons, had to cut the crank .020/.010, and needed one new rod. Here are a few details:

GM Casting 853 Heads -- Unknown Hand Ported/Polished
Unknown Cam -- .598" lift
Forged 408ci Shortblock - DRP -2cc Pistons, Callies Forged 4.125 Crank, Oliver I-Beam Rods
Moser 12-Bolt 4.10 Gears
Stock T56 Trans

As you can tell the car is out of fuel up top. We were actually quite impressed with these numbers with what seems like a mild cam and 853 hand ported heads.

Isn't that technically a 420.93ci? (4.030x4.125)

None. What gets shaved off the crank gets added back in with thicker bearings.

Did the car have longtubes, exhaust, bolt-ons - anything like that? Very nice numbers. Throw some milled AFR 225 small chambers (when they come out) and a TTP Equalizer and you 'll see some sick numbers. I love that touque curve just as it sits. 350ftlbs @ 2K, 400 @ 3K, damn

Not bad #s. I thought the same thing myself that it doesn't seem like it could be a 408 anylonger.

Them Callies cranks are STRONG! i beat the life out of my motor with juice, and it hasnt showed any negative signs. Great #'s!
