New to LS1. What to expect?
Ok I got a 2001 motor with 224/224 .581 112LSA cam, 918 springs ported throttle body, 3.5 inch intake, 160 thermostat, 2 1/2 inch X-piped dual exhaust after stock 01 exhaust manifold. alum. flywheel. What should I expect from a dyno run? (I was thinking 350rwhp) approx. how much will I gain from tunning? Are the stock exhaust manifolds holding me back with the mods I have. Any advice is welcome.

Hi Todd. How's the bi-plane doing?
I'm thinking of going with a AFR heads/cam + LG headers for the Z06 and using the LS6 heads+porting with a better cam on the LS1-Rx7.
You should be making more power with headers, tuning and no cats.

it's a cone filter with a 90degree plastic elbow that goes into the TB. 3.5inches = 89mm
Todd...didnt you have the same cam as luke? i could have sworn it was a thunder racing with 114 lsa, not 112.

I have .581 on 112, Luke has .561 on 114. 3 inch might just be a little too loud and wouldn't dual 2.5 help on torque and respond some? I don't have a OBD II plug on my car so does that mean I have to send my PCM out to have it tuned? Can some one explain to me how the LS1 PCM is tuned and how do the tuning programs out there work. I am confused as to what you can and can not do with the software and how you purchase it. I am not planing to do anymore mods. to the motor and I think what I am doing is not that radical at all so can I just do a mail tune? If so any recommendations?

Well if I can get around 370rwhp and good torque with it I will be happy. I need the motor to last and be bullet proof so I thought about leaving the exhaust manifolds on just to choke the motor a little so it won't push too much power for its own good. (I know it sounds wacked but I can not afford to break anything on the motor.)

You should see about 350-360 through the stock manifolds. Upwards of 390-400 w/long tubes/3" Y/cutout.

Well instead of 2.5 inch mandrel I am just gona do 3 crush bend, cheap and effective. Ok as long I can have 350 to start I am happy. Headers can always go on later after I hunt down some BBk long tubes.

BBk fox body long tube with LS1 header flanges works perfect for RX7. If I run with stock manifolds and stock tune for now would I hurt the motor? I have heard peopel run 224 cam with out any tune at all.
