Lots of unknown variables. First, was the converter clutch locked up? Was the cam degreed in or installed dot to dot? What is the inake centerline? What was the static compression? Heads milled? Head gasket size? Is it tuned? What's the A/F ratio look like? How much timing? Any knock retard? Got a dyno graph? You're leaving out too much infomation for any of us to give you much help. Answer those questions and provide a graph (huge help) and we will try to diagnose where you lost power is.

Wow, that's a big difference. I still think 369 rwhp unlocked is low. My old setup was PP S2 heads, 232/232 cam and TCI 3800 dyno'd 377 rwhp unlocked and 394 rwhp locked. I was pissed because that seemed too low.

Has the car been tuned after the h/c install? If not, you could be missing alot of power...

What transmission?

The Yank 4000 we had flashed pretty high.It was to even pull a Nitrous run unlocked.
Unlocked Nitrous- 450hp/460tq
Locked -620hp/680tq

Dyno #'s are just dyno #'s. Some converter's dyno better than other's.They are made to make your car fast, not dyno high.

Take the car to the track, see what it runs, then pass judgement.

This is true, but it's way more fun when someone asks you what your car makes for power, after seeing it run a 10.x pass and telling them it makes like 400 hp... it usually gets a much more intresting reaction then telling them it makes 600.

cam is dot to dot
static compression is 10.5
heads are not milled 66 cc's
stock gasket
a/f ratio 13.1
total timing is 29 at 369hp
total timing is 27 at 362hp
no knock retard
cam intake centerline 108
and the converter was not locked up

we used the same dyno before and after the install
and it's the same dyno another car with the same set up less fast intake
but a 2800 stall converter did 413hp

thanks for all the help

With an unlocked big stall i wouldn't expect a whole lot more. Take it to the track and have fun.

A 2800stall compared to a 4000stall is a huge difference on dyno #'s when they are unlocked.

na those numbers are low.. i have a very similar setup and i just did 430 unlocked so either your converter is eating up like 60 more hp than my similar sized tci converter or you got a problem
