Default tr230/224+absolute speed heads+90/90

I had the cam in the car for 2.5 years and ran a best of 11.66 never dynotuned. Just installed a set of absolute speed heads and fast 90/90 with dynotune, and made 424hp@6200 and 386ftlbs.@5100 through a moser 12bolt w/33 spline axles. Some people think that the numbers are low but they fail to realize that I would have made 15-18hp more if I had the stock 10bolt. I went to the track on Sat. but exploded my driveshaft on the starting line. So new #'s and ds coming soon.

Nice numbers. I just made very similar numbers with AS heads and a 90/90. https://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamometer-results-comparisons/592430-2000-ws6-h-c-i-numbers.html

Weather permitting I'm going to the track on thursday so I should have some numbers soon. AS heads put down the numbers, especially considering when they were developed. Good luck with the DS and new numbers.

of all the stock head porters AS was one of the better ones thats for sure, too bad the guy can't run a business. I made 457 rwhp with those heads and exact same cam, through a 12 bolt back in the day.

Dean, I'm glad I was able to give you a hand pushing the WS6 on Sat. Congrats on the new numbers. You should be hauling with the new combo!

Plus the TR230 wasn't necessarily designed to take full advantage of quality headflow and intake draw. It's a relatively low lift cam, and the tight LSA (more overlapping of valve events) is what makes it perform so well in cam-only, intake-restricted situations. So while we don't see the usual ~450 numbers you might see with other cams, keeping things relative, for a "small" cam and heavy drivetrain, these numbers look good! Always loved the power curve of the TR230!

Great to see numbers like that Dean. I got your PM and number but have been swamped with other things lately. Expect a call soon.

Seeing that vid tells me to get a DS now since installing my AS heads and 231/237 cam, just glad I didn't hook for anything on the 17in M/T's the only trip to the track this year. Will have 15's and a DS come spring. I'm hoping to turn out similar times and numbers as you. Same full weight with a different cam and LS6 intake with ported TB along with the rest of the bolt-ons should do.

Who tuned it for you? I've been setting mine up in SD with EFILive but it's really becomming a PIA. I havn't hooked up the dry shot yet. Waiting to see what she'll do all motor first.

My car made 427rwhp with a 230/227 cam and I ran 10.90 @ 123 in a 3330# car. Your car will perform great.

whats up man.
GMR Speed in Ohio tuned my car for me. Let me know if you want to borrow some wheels and slicks next year. I was hoping for low 11's this year but you see what happened to my ds and I think my racing days are over for a while becaused I just bought a house a few weeks ago and now have a mortage payment and since my car is running good I don't want to break because then it will have to sit for a long time.

those are good #'s man. What kind of exhaust are you running. I know that cam with a good flowing set of heads like what you have need a cutout open somewhere near the y pipe.
If I were you i would switch out cams in the future and slap a g5x3 cam in there. AS heads and the g5x3 cam are made for each other. Good Luck with the car.

I'm hoping to have some by spring. Along with a new DS, wheels and tires are most likely to be the only modding I do this year. Hopefully I can get the tune down by then and turn some decent times. I'll be sure to hit you up on borrowing yours if needed and thank you for offering.

You should really give it one last try to see what she'll do before you quit racing her.

flowmaster muffler and cutout on the y-pipe was used during dyno. I also have an FLP y-pipe with dual 2.5inch cutouts that i open at the track.
