So basically, the Kooks advantage over AR is their y-pipe and CATS.

But for a true dual set-up, the AR headers would make more power than the Kooks.

Or did I miss something?

Louie, This thread originated with A.R. Headers substantially outperforming Kook's on a C5. The F-body system was dragged into it later because someone is on an agenda.

I scanned them both in and plotted them together. It appears that the gains were throughout the RPM range, not just peak. Were the tuning parameters comparable?

As much as I don't want to respond in this post here goes...

I switched from LG Pro Long tubes with no cats to American Racing headers with no cats and picked up 3mph and .3 ET at the track. Same A/F, the car was tuned on every pass and took an average ET and MPH. There was no timing change, A/F was within .2 and the car posted solid 3mph and .3 gains. MPH went from 128.7-129.1 to a solid 132.0-132.4. Oh its an all motor 346 on pump gas.

why dont you post all the facts you changed header size thats the big difference nice test of apples to apples

your quote" Yeah, about 3mph with the DA figured in. The headers went from a 1 3/4" to a 1 7/8" but the ID changed pretty drastically @ points. Do you think 137-138mph is out of the question with -2000' air? We see that in the later parts of october here."

With 35+ Years Of Experience! Why is kooks now changing there header.
Why because American Racing has a better design. With all them years of Experience.

Why don't you start your own thread and get off mine.

The bottom line is Kooks has an inferior design, they got their *** kicked by AR and now they are trying to catch up.

Ok why don't I smart ***...

1850' BEFORE with LG
2500' AFTER with AR
2.2mph gain with almost 700' higher altitude... NEXT

I'm running less timing now(Nitrous tune) which in testing has shown lower MPH, the car now goes 132.x in 875' weather with a nitrous tune.
