Default 402 Finally tuned.... small cam 465/454

Okay fellas, I finally got my car tuned. It took a little while because of some oil burning issues I was having. Glad to say thats over. That being said I love the way the car drives but, like everyone else, it put down less than I expected. However, the issue can be fixed by me changing out the badly spec'd cam I picked out and applying my new found knowledge on a different one. My current cam is a 230/236 115lsa +2. Knowing what I know now, I got exactly what I should have gotten. 465rwhp/454rwtq!!! My next cam will be a little bigger with a lower lsa and better valve events. I'll be sure to post the results of the next one.

TSP 402 shortblock
-10cc Diamond pistons
Eagle crank
Eagle rods w/ ARP bolts
PRC LS6 Stage 2.5 heads
Dynatech 1 3/4 with cats
SVO 30's

Thanks Texas Speed and A.R.T

What oil burning issues did you have and how did you fix them? That car should drive just like stock with that cam in there...

Up until about 1200miles I was adding a half a quart every 3 times I would drive the car. I went threw and re-RTV'd the rocker arm bolts and in the process for my #7 sparkplug wire was not pushed on all the way. The car no longer smokes on startup and the oil burn has dropped tremendously. I had a catch can installed when I had the car tuned so, we'll see what I get there. And yes, the car does drive like stock. Too much like stock. I went to conservative on the cam. I'll be fixing that soon.
