Talking 408 results part II

This is a listing for 40X engines; mods; dyno graphs; and track times if available. So far this listing is what I could find with the search feature. If anyone wants to add to a post that I found or add info about your car that is not included feel free but try to keep the chit chat to a minimum, or use the PMs.

By request here is a breakdown of the dynos in the thread so far. I left out some questionable ones.
Average HP________Average TQ
507.90______________481.25

Least HP___________Least TQ
432__________________425

Most HP___________Most TQ
601_______________538

I was in a hurry but here is a small HP/TQ graph, blue = HP purple = TQ

Thanks

BTW here is my set up...when it is tuned I will post my results, currently most of the parts are on the floor of my garage. The motor will be here next week or so.

I will post up the results when it is done. Motor will be here in a week or so. I have to deploy soon and may not be able to put the car together before I am gone.

Car made 500/470 on the dyno and at the track did:
I borrowed 3 yr old slicks and finally got to the track...not many cars there so did not wait more than 10-20 minutes (longest) between runs...almost hot lapping. Car is right at 4k with me in it.

First pass I was like WTF over:
the car started in second gear (A4) and stayed there the entire 1/8th, anyway here it is:

60' 1.7811
330 5.3801
594 7.7151
1/8 8.2251 @ 88.23

Next...did some tuning on the trans
60' 1.7211 (manually put in 1) spinning through the 60'
330 4.8790
594 7.0048
1/8 7.4810 @94.5 (better) but can the car back it up?

next...new tire pressure
60' 1.7447 (fishtail slightly)
330 5.0148
594 7.1650
1/8 7.64 @ 93.55

next...new tire pressure, longer burnout
60' 1.7149 (still spinning but what a rush)
330 4.9018
594 7.0339
1/8 7.5130 @ 93.92

Last run of the night...longer burnout
60' 1.6662 (nice 60'...still spinning, think there is more there)
330 4.8063
594 6.9334
1/8 7.4113 @ 94.14

for next time...cutout or true duals can decide.

new numbers coming.

The car had about 500mi on it at the time. The LS6 intake setup was creating alot of vaccum so it was chocked up real bad, havent had a chance to redyno yet.

Ive since added the fast 90mm intake & the NW 90mm TB. That should open it up a bit, Im also going with a higher CR, somewhere along the lines or 12.1-1 or so.

bigger numbers were on a 150 hit, the dyno lost signal for a second, thats what the huge drop spike is

-LS6 intake
-Comp XE-R 244/248 612/615 115 lsa

-42 lb. injectors

I made 432 rwhp and 431 lb. ft. of torque. I recently ran a 12.2 @ 119 on street tires as well. What do you guys think about all this? Should I be happy with it for the time being? I know when I throw a set of heads and an intake on it, it should make a huge jump, hopefully over the 500 mark. Let me know what ya'll think. If you need any other info, lmk. I'll scan the dyno sheet later on today. Thanks, Alex

I think by going to a 64cc stage 3 with 225 runners I would be in the 11.3 to 1 area, that should pick me up 20-30 rwhp. Im also going to get a fast intake, maybe between the two I can see 500rwhp. ????????????
Maybe more compression to get 500, IMO it will help.

Car put down 455 uncorrected..... ran a 7.9 @ 93mph w/ a 1.9 60ft on motor w/ a partial SD tune.

Fixed the tune after adding a maf and ran 7.6 at 94.5mph w/ a 1.7 60ft on motor with the nitrous stall.

I am sure it was doing right around 475-480 corrected after the maf tune.

A/F was in the 10's under 3000 rpm's and 11's until 4750 rpm's. It never got above a 12.6...until 6600 rpm's...I think it's safe to say there is a nice bit hiding in a tune.

532 RWHP 485 RWTQ

I'm sure torque is down because of the larger headers but I wanted to get them and suffer the loss n/a for my gains on the hose. This motor will be recieving a 250 progressive direct port. Compression was also lower than optimal because of the heat that we get down here in the SE part of the country. It still put down decent numbers and now I'm not so worried about detonation with spray later down the road.

244/248 635/627 112 (installed 4 degrees advanced for the restrictive heads)
Eagle crank

I'm sending my heads out tomorrow to get ported and a 2.08/1.6 setup so that should help a bit. But I'd like to get the lost power issue addressed now before the heads get back so I don't have to extend this issue

It's an Auto with 3.23 rear gears & 3800 stall converter. It was trailered to & tuned by Speed Inc in Schaumburg IL when we were finished putting it together. It put down 450hp/425tq with zero miles on the motor.... running a 'low' 10.2:1 compression ratio... on 93 octane.

I'm hoping with a FAST 90 / NW 90 setup... it should pick up a couple more ponies. It falls off some at the top... think it's running out of breath.

It dyno'd 545rwhp and 535rwtq with 1 3/4 headers

I just swapped over to a Vic JR intake and will dyno it saturday. hoping for ~570rwhp. will be at the track sunday, hoping for 10.0's @ 135. I never quite had everything worked out with the old setup, but I'm sure it would have gone 10.3's.
up in flames... 408 12.85:1, M6 10.52 @ 130 1.42; 10.12 @ 137 on a 100 shot. 3469 lbs

No electric water pump or shortbelt mod. Small mixture of 104 octane with a huge mixture of 93 octane just for safety purposes. Now dont forget my heads are like 3 FMS updates behind.
