Default noobie dyno questions....

Well I have a pretty much stock 2001 z28 and the main reason i am going to get a tune is to get rid of a damn spark knock i have from about 4500 to 6k rpm under WOT. I am just wondering what all you can accomplish with a dyno tune. Can shift points and such also be changed...just some basic noob questions
thankss

A dyno tune is for power really, getting the A/F where it needs to be, although if you are using a aftermarket cam etc. shift points could be raised to utilize the higher power band. Shift points can be changed with HP Tuners either way though.
