An average z06 with those mods should have made that on a mustang dyno IMO. Either the motor is hurt, pushrods are the wrong length, cam wasnt degreed right (not perfectly dot to dot). Anything really. Hope all works out well.

I added a Vortex Rammer CAI, Veneance ported TB, and a Magnaflow X-pipe.

Pushrods are 7.40 which is what MTI said I need with stock heads and their camshafts.

I did a compression test today, results are

#1 195
#2 190
#3 195
#4 194
#5 190
#6 190
#7 192
#8 190

The numbers look pretty strong to me.

Mark my car didn't make killer numbers either but it runs pretty well at the track. Put some good heads on it and it should wake it up.

I think your numbers would've been better with LG's Pro Longtubes but that just me. I saw an 02 z back in 2006 with just LG's pro longtubes and a tune put down 387 rwhp 379 rwtq. No cam in that car, just the headers and a tune. I'd like to see you around 410 rwhp minimum. Just my 2 cents bro, not knocking you at all.

Now remember this is an 01.... 385bhp. They usually only put around 340-350rwhp stock when the 02-04 put around 360-370rwhp stock. He's already 20 or so rwhp behind. Not knocking the 01s at all.... Cause I own one.

Most of that HP difference was due to the camshaft I thought?

You are correct sir. They are 20 bhp behind from the start. Good point.

Not only the camshaft.... There were a few other things different in the motor and exhaust that made the difference.

I cant remember all of them....

Exactly!!!! #'s aren't everything.

What did the A/FR look like. Maybe it was tuned on the safe side. I would rather have that cushion of safety than a motor on its edge of burning up.
