Headers & a locked converter will help your dyno numbers. ET will improve with headers; both NA and on the spray. I also did not see an LS6 intake on your home page list of mods. That's 2 potential large airflow restrictions.
A locked converter will also give you accruate data for use in figuring shift points. I highly doubt that a 224 cam peaked at 6500 rpm with stock manifolds.
ET would also improve with more stall. You can spray a Vig 3200 too.

Sorry meant to type "peak @ 6000" But yes a LS6 intake I guess will be in the future. Of course it will be the EGR version.

Sounds like your converters are clogged???
Or Cam not installed correctly???

I just looked at the other thread you compare your car to. That's a 2001. It has the LS6 intake and the 2000 & Up exhaust manifold is a slightly better design too. Probably explains a 20 HP difference before trying to compare numbers accross dynos.

I agree you need to lock the converter for the runs. How does it feel on the street?? Much stronger with H/C??
To test converters just disconnect them and run open Headers and see the difference. That is if on the Vette the 02 doesn't come off with the Cat.

Once you get some longtubes, LS6 Intake, ported TB and tuning, I think you'll at least be well in the 370's. Those are all important pieces in h/c packages. I gained about 18rwhp w/headers before h/c, so I bet the gain would be much more after a h/c swap.
Now, after you've done all that and you still dyno low like me, then you can be bummed out.

First of all did you degree the cam in properly. What RPM are you making peak HP at? The stock exhaust is restrictive, especially in 98 and 99. Lots of cars get .3 and 3mph from long tubes. Now you have a significantly larger can and you exhaust restriction just became worse. If headers give a stock car 20 or HP think what it will do for your car. The car needs to breath especially with a single pattern cam that is not exhaust bias.

there are some other thoughts that have not been addressed..

Ed runs a Vigilante 2800 so I wouldn't think that he'd lose too much on the dyno especially since its supposed to be more efficient than the stock unit. Then again My numbers with the same converter are nothing to write home about either.

I can't believe some of you guys didn't catch this. HE DOES NOT HAVE STOCK TUNING! You can't take a stock tuned car to 7,000 RPM's on a dyno or otherwise, the rev limiter is set 6,200 RPM's.
You need LT Headers and a REAL tune...

Ed LS1 Vert: What were your SAE Corrected dyno numbers. The graph you posted was STD numbers. Also it looks like your car is leaning out bad at higher RPMs, though it's hard to tell by the graph since they posted it by speed. If the car is as lean as I think it might be that could be where your problem is. Although since you still have cats on the car the A/F could be a little skewed. Just some thoughts.
